(
Alias' : Nocturnal Disorder / Digital Pimpz / Hostilian / Kontraband / Funked In Your Space)

From an early age Shawn has always had a keen interest in all styles of music. From classic, rock, dance, opera, urban & many more. Whilst he was younger he always wanted to work with computers & never found the break he was looking for. After much soul searching he realised that he wanted to something for a living that he enjoyed & could put his heart into.

After going out on the 'scene' for many years Shawn slowly started to learn how to mix with a pair of decks he had for a while but had never bothered to learn properly. He started by learning to mix two basic tracks together & listened to them until he knew the tracks inside & out. Once he had master the art of beat matching he then tried different tricks on the decks to make his sets more creative.

But this wasn't the end for Shawn....

Whilst he was at school he was trained on piano (as well as failing drums & guitar). This gave him the idea & chance to start learning how to create music. The first (& last) program he picked up was FL Studio (back then & more commonly known as Fruityloops). After learning the basics he started to create his own tracks with the help of a good mate Craig Stuart.

In
2005 Shawn & Craig entered Mixmag with the track DANCING ON AIR. This was the turning point for Shawn. After this it gave him the drive to learn and to create his own sound & go off on his own to achieve something brilliant.

Shawn later found himself playing at nights such as Polysexual, Storm, Bounce2This, Bring Back The Bounce, Shaft, Shine, Fluffy, Breed, Blessed, Hit The Deck & many more.
Not only that he was asked to remix & work with such people as Carl Nicholson, Gem Stone & more....

In 2007 Shawn had a signing & release of Nocturnal Disorder - Trigger Finger on Generation-X & the Tidy Weekender 11 album, thanks to Daley & Amber D. The live set was played out at the Tidy Weekender in front of thousands of people & recorded for later release. Since the success on the album the track has sold well.

Andrew Cockbill carved his way into hard dance history in April 08 with his chartbusting debut single, ‘Reality Check’.

His journey to the scene began as far back as he can remember. From an early age he was always fascinated by music and as a child was majorly influenced by the late 80’s / early 90’s electronic dance music revolution.

At the age of 12 he got his first pair of decks, and the first two vinyl he purchased were ‘Warp Brothers – Phatt Bass’ and ‘Public Domain – Operation Blade’.

With the help of his father he built his own lighting system and began running monthly youth clubs in order to raise money for his local rugby club (and of course, pocket a little for himself!).

By the age of 14 Andrew had became an established mobile DJ in the Swindon area and was entertaining as a resident at the social club for various wedding and social functions.

Inevitably, his love of dance music meant his disc jockeying days were numbered as the temptation to play decent pumping club tracks as an alternative to Jeff Beck’s ‘Hi Ho Silver Lining’ was becoming too strong.

Still being too young to play nightclubs he turned his attentions to the studio, where he began (with the help of his cousin, Shawn) to develop his skills, working on tracks of his own.

After starting university in Birmingham, along with Shawn the pair decided to start their own student night. After rewiring the sound system in the student bar, ‘Funked in Your Space’ became a regular Thursday night slot.

He began to entertain at night clubs in and around the Birmingham area, including sets at nights such as Shine, B4, Fluffy, Receptive and eventually his own tester night, Hit The Deck. Following its success in December 07, with Shawn, Andrew registered record label ‘HTD Digital’.

In May 2008 Andrew’s debut single ‘Reality Check’ smashed the track it down charts and was the no.1 downloaded hard house release on junodownload for a whole week.

Andrew is currently spending time in the studio and working towards launching new, regular HTD events in the coming months.

Ally’s love for music was there from a very young age. Although his mum could never afford to buy new music when he was a child, he always had access to bang up to date music at his local Youth Centre.

They offered a lending service where the kids could borrow one record per week. Ally inevitably took his borrowed records home, and used to try and copy them all at the same tempo so he could mix them on tape! Then, after watching a few boys DJ at the youth centre, he was itching to give it a go. When he turned around 12, he started learning to DJ properly (when they finally gave him a shot on the decks!) and he picked it up within a few mixes, as he’d been watching the older lads for so long. This is where his love for music really had a chance to kick off and develop into a lifelong passion.

Ally then advanced to a set of decks. He couldn’t afford to buy any on his own so he persuaded a mate to pay for half of them - Ally would have them for a month, then his mate for a month etc. Ally finally had his chance to master the art of DJ-ing, dedicating hours upon hours practicing mixing – much to the consternation of his mum’s neighbours!
After a few years of playing in his bedroom (and investing in some headphones), it was time for him to showcase his talents in a club. He decided to start his own Club Night “Rock Solid” @ The Bongo Club in Edinburgh, where he booked JP & Jukesy, Jason Cortez & Phil York, and himself as resident. The first night didn’t draw the crowds through his lack of experience in promoting events, but this didn’t deter Ally as a DJ.

Over time Ally continued to develop his own style and carried on DJing Hard House, Hard Trance & Techno. However, he found himself, slowly and surely being drawn towards the production of dance music-.

A mate introduced him to producing tracks on ‘Music 2000’ for the Sony Playstation 1 and Ally was amazed and hooked by the concept straight away. This was a basic introduction to dance music production, but even such a simple program was enough to show Ally that he wanted to pursue it further.

Ally made a conscious decision to leave full time work in order to attend college to learn Music Production Technology where he began to learn how to use Pro Programs such as ‘Reason’ and ‘Cubase’, which he excelled at because of his instilled lifelong enthusiasm for music.
Just recently Ally has qualified from this course and is looking to progress into a Degree in Music Production.
He is currently working on projects with DJ Dave Walker under the guise of ‘The Stupid Experts’, as well as concentrating on his own productions. Watch this space!
